How Montage Metrics works

Montage Metrics is a community-first catalog for the Call of Duty sniping scene. Track every clip you land by game, by map, by clip type, and stack them next to everyone else doing the same. The point isn't to gatekeep. It's just somewhere for all of us to log the run.

Getting started

Sign in with Google or Discord. You'll pick a display name and platform (PC or Console) on first sign-in. Platform locks you to the matching clip slots on games that care about it (CoD4, WaW). Everything else uses one shared list.

Head to /games to browse the 12 games and pick a map to start filling.

Submitting a clip

On any map page, find the slot for the clip type you landed (Triple, Quad, 5-On, etc.), paste a YouTube or Google Drive link, and submit. Clips are instantly approved. They show up in your slot right away, no waiting on a queue.

Heads up on Drive uploads: set the share permission to "Anyone with the link" before submitting. Without that, the in-page player can't embed your clip and the thumbnail won't render either. YouTube links work either way.

Submitting again to a slot you've already filled replaces the previous clip. The old one stays in your history but moves out of the active slot. Want to clear a slot entirely? Open the clip and click withdraw.

Rarity tiers and points

Every clip type is bucketed into one of seven rarity tiers. The rarer the tier, the more points the clip is worth:

  • Common1 pt
  • Uncommon2 pts
  • Rare3 pts
  • Epic4 pts
  • Prestige5 pts
  • Legendary6 pts
  • Mythic7 pts

Your total points are clip points + master-set bonuses. That number drives every leaderboard.

Mythic submissions

Mythic is reserved for clips so exceptional they deserve to sit on a higher pedestal than their slot would otherwise place them on. Every Mythic submission gets reviewed by an admin. There's no automatic path here.

Once a clip is approved in its normal slot, open it and hit Promote to Mythic. That sends it to the admin Mythic-review queue. From there one of three things happens:

  • Approved. The clip earns the flat Mythic 7 points and shows up as Mythic-rarity across the whole site.
  • Denied. The clip stays in its original slot at its original points. Nothing else changes. You can re-promote later if the bar shifts.
  • Downgraded. A clip that was previously approved Mythic but no longer holds up gets bumped back to its base tier. Reversible.

No cooldown, no limit on requests. Admins can deny freely and any decision is reversible, so the worst case is "not yet."

Master sets

There are two flavors of completionism, and they're independent. You can chase either, both, or neither.

  • Map master set. Fill every clip-type slot on a single map. Earns the map master-set bonus, worth +50 points on top of the clip points themselves. Slot count varies by game (10 to 12 per map).
  • Game master set. Land at least one approved clip on every map of a single game. Earns the game master-set bonus, worth +25 points. Different goal, different vibe. Wide instead of deep. Anyone chasing "every map cleared" ends up here.

Short version: map master is going deep on one map. Game master is going wide across one game.

Your profile and showcase

Your profile lives at /u/your-display-name. Edit it from /settings: bio, X handle, YouTube channel, avatar, and platform.

The Showcase at the top of your profile pins up to 3 approved clips you want people to see first. Drag the cards to reorder them. The Featured Gamespicker controls which games show up in your "Progress by game" section.

Leaderboards

/leaderboard ranks every signed-in player by total points. There are also game-specific and map-specific boards. Click into a game or map to see those. Platform-locked games (CoD4, WaW) get separate PC and Console boards.

Friends

Send friend requests from another player's profile. Accepted friends show up on your /friends page, and you can pin the ones you check on most so they bubble to the top.
